Hiking
Hiking across acreekI wore out a pair of Eddie Bauer hiking boots... It's quite amazing that no one got hurt on any of the hikes. The worst injuries came from jogging and playing football. This is the trail to the nearest river... Imagine doing this everyday just to haul water.

Trucks
Pushing a truck uphillGoing around in trucks on the dirt roads was quite exciting but very bumpy. When the roads get muddy, the trucks "fish-tail" quite a bit, sometimes precariously close to the edges. We had to push this truck up a particularly steep hill.

Flying
Taking off a landing stripAir transport is vital to missionary work in remote areas. We flew in Cessna 206's down to the Sepik basin. I felt pretty claustrophobic and nauseated in the back seat of one. There are airstrips everywhere. The Anu tribe even built an airstrip in the hopes of getting a missionary to go to their tribe.

Canoes
Dugout canoe"Iwam" means people of the river. These dugout canoes are the main means of transportation. It's very difficult to stand up in one.
