The defaults for the numerical techniques in Alamode were chosen to provide a reasonably robust and accurate solution to the limited set of problems that we have tried. They are not optimal for every arbitrary system of equations that can be composed out of the available operators. The following sections discuss the characteristics of some of the numerical difficulties and provides hints about which parameters should be adjusted to help to overcome them.
