STRESS
Calculate elastic stresses.
SYNOPSIS
- stress [ temp1=n temp2=n ] [ nel=n ]
DESCRIPTION
The stress command allows the user to calculate stresses due to thin film intrinsic stress or thermal mismatch.
- temp1, temp2
- These are the initial and final temperatures for calculating thermal mismatch stresses.
- nel
- This is the number of nodes per triangle to use. Currently only 6 or 7 are allowed. 6 nodes is faster than 7 and usually gives adequate results, so 6 is the default.
EXAMPLES
- material nitride intrin.sig=1.4e10
stress
- This calculates the stresses in the substrate and film arising from a nitride layer which has an intrinsic stress of 1.4E10 when deposited uniformly.
BUGS
The correct boundary conditions for a thermal mismatch problem are hard to set up.
