Dan Yang received his BS in applied mathematics from Shanghai University of Science and Technology, 1982 and his MS in numerical analysis from Syracuse University, NY, 1984. He also received a MS degree in computer science from Stanford University, 1986. He worked as a CAD Engineer at LSI Logic Inc. from 1986 to 1990.

He graduated from Stanford witha PhD in Electrical Engineering in June of 1994.

His research focus was on Computational algorithms for CAD, solid modeling and mesh generation. He is a student Member of ACM and SIAM.
