RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

Interconnect Modeling
  • Evaluating the capacitance, inductance and resistance of interconnect lines; specifically those on MultiChip Modules (MCM).
  • Evaluating the effects of transmission line parameters and interconnect parasitics on signal speed and integrity.
  • Use Fastcap and Fasthenry from MIT , Raphael from TMA , MagiCAD from Mayo Foundation and XFX from Quad Design/Mentor to model 2-D and 3-D interconnect elements. Verify accuracy.
  • Evaluate crosstalk between parallel striplines using HSPICE and the FDTD method.
